BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - MARINE SURVEYING
Position summary
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth, establish strategic partnerships, and serve as the primary liaison between our surveying team and clients. This role combines sales, relationship management, and industry networking to position our services as the premier choice for marine surveying needs.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the marine, yachting, marine finance, and insurance sectors
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets
- Research market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities
- Generate leads through networking, cold calling, referrals, and industry events
- Present surveying services to prospective clients including yacht brokers, marinas, and dealerships
- Prepare proposals, quotes, and service agreements for potential clients
Client Relations and Account Management
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients throughout the survey process
- Build and maintain strong relationships with yacht brokers, insurance companies, and lending institutions
- Coordinate survey scheduling, logistics, and special requirements with clients
- Ensure client expectations are clearly communicated to surveying team
- Follow up post-survey to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns
- Manage client database and maintain detailed records of all interactions
Industry Networking
- Attend boat shows, maritime events, and industry conferences to represent the company

Administrative Duties

required qualifications
Experience & Background
- Minimum 3-5 years in sales, business development, or account management
- Experience in the marine industry preferred (boating, yachting, maritime services)

MARINE SURVEYOR
Position summary
We are seeking highly motivated Marine Surveyors with three years plus experience. Successful candidates will conduct inspections, surveys, and assessments of vessels to ensure compliance with international regulations, safety standards, contractual requirements, and insurance obligations. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to prepare detailed information for technical reports with findings, recommendations, and photographic evidence.
Key Responsibilities
Surveying and technical duties
- Conduct condition, damage, on-hire/off-hire, and pre-purchase surveys on commercial vessels
- Inspect hull, machinery, structural components, and onboard systems
- Assess vessel seaworthiness and compliance with international maritime regulations
- Attend vessels in port, shipyards, anchorages, and terminals
- Identify deficiencies, risks, and non-compliance issues
Reporting and documentation
- Prepare clear, accurate, and professional survey reports
- Compile photographic evidence and technical findings
- Provide recommendations for repairs, maintenance, or corrective actions
- Submit reports within agreed timelines
Client and stakeholder interaction
- Liaise with shipowners, operators, insurers, P&I clubs, and classification societies
- Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Represent the company professionally at all times
required qualifications
Experience & Background
- Marine engineering, nautical, or maritime qualification
- Proven experience as a Marine Surveyor or in a relevant seagoing technical role

This role plays a critical part in loss prevention, claims support, and independent verification for clients in shipping, logistics, and insurance.
Key Responsibilities
Cargo inspection and monitoring
- Attend cargo loading, discharge, and trans-shipment operations
- Inspect cargo condition, packaging, and markings
- Monitor stowage, lashing, securing, and handling practices
- Verify cargo quantities, weights, and documentation
Damage assessment and claims support
- Investigate cargo damage and shortages
- Determine probable cause of damage
- Collect photographic and documentary evidence
Reporting and communication
- Prepare timely, accurate survey reports
- Communicate findings clearly to clients and stakeholders
- Maintain impartiality and professional integrity
