Cargo Surveys
Quality & Quantity assessments
Cargo Surveys
INS conducts cargo surveys to ensure safe transport of goods by sea, land, or air. We assess quality and quantity for bulk cargo, general cargo, dry cargo, containers, and liquid shipments, including chemicals and petroleum products. Special attention is given when high-value assets such as yachts, windmills, transformers, and engines are transported as cargo, ensuring secure stowage, proper lashing, and protection throughout the voyage.
Our surveys verify accurate loading quantities, proper stowage, and cargo condition. We inspect during transit if damage is suspected or incidents occur. On arrival, we assess discharge operations, checking for shortages, contamination, or deterioration. Quality surveys confirm cargo specifications meet contract requirements. Quantity surveys provide independent verification of weights and volumes loaded or discharged – essential evidence for commercial disputes. Commodities and goods often change ownership and responsibility during transport; surveys at these stages are valuable and preventive.
- Pre-loading surveys
- Loading and discharge monitoring
- Draft survey & quantity determination
- Damage & claims investigation
- Specialised cargo surveys
- Reporting and risk management
